Getting to Green for Good

There are plenty of ways to get to the exciting Green for Good expo at Navy Pier, whether by biking, taking the train, driving, and more. There are also plenty of parking options in the area for those who drive from near or far!

Biking

A green-conscious alternative to public transit and driving, biking the Lakefront Trail is surely an exciting way to get to the expo! If you don't have your own bike but want to try this method, Navy Pier has brand-new Divvy station and kiosk located in Polk Bros Park on the northwest corner of Streeter and Grand.

Public Transportation

Navy Pier is easily accessible via public transportation on the Metra, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Regional Transit Authority (RTA).

How do you get to Navy Pier from Metra or Amtrak station?

  • CTA Bus #124 connects Navy Pier with Union/Ogilvie Station and Millennium Station.
  • CTA Bus #29 connects Navy Pier with LaSalle Street Station and Millennium Station.

What CTA buses service Navy Pier?

The CTA provides five bus lines serving Navy Pier daily. These are:

  • #29 State
  • #65 Grand
  • #66 Chicago
  • #124 Navy Pier (from Union/Ogilvie Stations)

And, the #2 Hyde Park Express (during weekday rush hours only).

All buses are equipped with bike racks and are ADA accessible. Visit the CTA's website for more information.

Where can I buy a CTA Visitor Pass?

CTA Visitor Passes can be found by using the Ventra machines found at most CTA L stations and selecting the Family Pay-as-you-go and day pass options.

RTA

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) serves the Chicagoland region and provides a variety of different routes directly to Navy Pier. Visit www.rtachicago.com to access trip planner to find the best way to travel to Navy Pier with RTA.

Will the free trolley be operating during Green for Good?

No, unfortunately The Navy Pier free trolley operates Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Water Taxi

Shoreline Water Taxis begins service in May and offers a scenic, fast and fun way to get to Navy Pier. There are two water taxi routes:

  • The Lake Route, which connects Navy Pier with the Museum Campus and is within walking distance of Soldier Field and Northerly Island.
  • The River Route, which runs between Navy Pier and Willis Tower/Union Station and stops at Michigan Avenue.
Driving Directions

Navy Pier is located at 600 E. Grand Avenue, right by the Streeterville neighhorhood in downtown Chicago and Ohio Street Beach. It is easily accessible via car and hard to miss–– just look for the Ferris wheel! Route US-41/Lake Shore Drive, route I-290, and Illinois St to E Grand Ave are the most commonly used roads to get to Navy Pier.

Parking

Navy Pier offers convenient on and off-site parking to all visiting guests. All rates subject to change.

Parking at Navy Pier

Navy Pier offers two on-site parking garages, the West and East Garage, and can accomodate a total of 1,500 vehicles. Click here for a map for the on-site parking route.

Self-Park Rates

Parking can be reserved online or at various parking pay stations installed throughout the Pier.

  • 30 mins — 1 hour: $15
  • 1 hr — 1.5 hours: $25
  • 1.5 hrs — 2 hours: $30
  • 2 hrs — 6 hrs: $35
  • 6 hrs — 12 hrs: $40
  • 12 hrs — 24 hrs: $50

Valet Parking

Valet parking is available at Entrance 1, located just past the entrance and exist to West Parking. With validation, valet rates for Friday - Sunday are as follows:

  • 0-6 hours: $20
  • 6+ hours or no validated ticket: $40

Discounted Remote Alternate Parking Garages

Navy Pier has parterned with three off-site parking garages within walking distance from the pier that offer discounted parking for $15:

Please make sure: do not pay in advance for remote alternate parking. Present your ticket at the Navy Pier Guest Services desk for validation to receive the $15 discounted parking rate.
