Facts about What We Stand For:
During Girl Scout Cookie season, our most visible time of year, people sometimes perpetuate rumors or false information about what Girl Scouting stands for as an organization in order to secure media coverage of their own platform issues or because they simply do not know the facts.
To ensure our members and their families can confirm that Girl Scouting does NOT have a relationship with Planned Parenthood and does NOT take a position on abortion or birth control, we are providing you with a fact sheet that explains this in writing. We encourage adults who are supporting girls during the cookie program to print out this fact sheet and carry it with them in order to provide accurate, factual information about our position on several divisive social issues.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program, the largest entrepreneurial program in the world, gives a host of invaluable entrepreneurial skills, including goal setting, money management, decision-making, people skills and business ethics. Each box of cookies sold allows Girl Scouts to develop an inextinguishable entrepreneurial spirit, gaining courage, confidence and character as they conquer new feats and embark on new adventures. Girl Scouts of the USA is aware of recent concerns raised regarding the presence of metals and trace glyphosate in some food products, including Girl Scout Cookies. The health and safety of our members and our customers is our top priority. All Girl Scout Cookies are produced by our trusted licensed bakers, who are leaders in their industry and adhere to rigorous food safety standards and comply with regulations set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state, and other relevant health authorities. These standards ensure that products meet all legal and safety requirements for consumption.
