Make your community a better place
It all starts here. Juniors team up with fellow Girl Scouts to explore their community, discover a need or issue they care about, and work together to address it. It’s a chance to create a plan and make an impact on the community they live in.
The Bronze Award is a Take Action project that shows leadership and address a root cause you are passionate about.
You can become a Bronze Award Girl Scout if you:
- Are in fourth or fifth grade
- Are a registered Girl Scout Junior
- Have completed a Junior Leadership Award or Junior Journey
How to earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award
- Download the Bronze Award Guide. Girls | Adults
- Build your Girl Scout Junior team, or decide to go solo.
- Explore your community.
- Decide on a project to work on.
- Make a plan of action. A Bronze Award project should take at least 20 hours per girl.
- Put your plan in motion.
- Spread the word.
- Share with us! Tell us all about your project by filling out your final report.

Highest Award Prerequisites
Join us for the Bronze Award Leader Training, an optional workshop designed to fully equip you to guide her through her first Highest Award experience with confidence.
This training walks adults through the Bronze Award process step by step, clarifying requirements, timelines, and best practices so you can focus on supporting your Girl Scout’s leadership journey every step of the way.
By attending, you’ll gain:
- A clear understanding of the Bronze Award guidelines and expectations
- Practical tips for mentoring Girl Scouts as they plan and complete their project
- Tools to help girls build teamwork, leadership, and community impact skills
Bonus: All participants will be mailed a Bronze Award Leader Toolkit after the training to support you as you guide your Girl Scout from start to finish.
