Join hands and celebrate with Promise Circles!

On March 12, 2012, Girl Scouts, families, volunteers, alumnae, and supporters of all ages gathered for local celebrations everywhere for our historic 100th anniversary!

Our legacy began on March 12, 1912, when Juliette Gordon Low gathered a group of 18 girls together in Savannah, Georgia. To symbolically mark that start of our movement, Girl Scouts past and present joined hands in ceremonial Promise Circles at hundreds of locations throughout the area. Together, we recited the Girl Scout Promise and Law at exactly 19:12 military time (7:12 p.m. CST) and honor the millions of girls whose lives have been changed through Girl Scouting.
