Three Cheers for Farm Animals!

In this focus on farm animals, Daisies will learn to recognize livestock and identify how they help us in growing our food. Hunt for eggs, milk a dairy goat, hold chickens, and do a short work project emphasizing animal care.  Work towards earning your Birdbath Award from the 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals! Fire Safety Days at the Chicago Fire Department’s Survive Alive House

Learn fire safety from the awesome firemen and women of the Chicago Fire Department! You will learn how to "survive alive" while experiencing a pretend fire in the home using special effects like non-toxic, artificial smoke, heat-panels in bedroom doors, and a street corner meeting place with a telephone.  For 2nd-5th graders.

This is during Chicago Public Schools’ spring break, so take advantage of your time off, and make it a day downtown with your troop!

Girl Scout Chemistry Day 2012

Learn about different areas of chemistry and how they impact your daily life. Perform experiments in a laboratory and talk and eat lunch with women chemists while learning about careers available in chemistry.

Come enjoy a concert and a music workshop. The pre-concert workshop activities will cover three of the five "Musician" badge requirements. Included handouts will give you helpful ideas to help you earn the rest. The Northshore concert Band is in it's 56th season of performing high-quality wind music for enthusiastic audiences. The band is composed of 110 dedicated volunteer musicians, ranging in age from 20 to 85, with an average tenure of 15 years. Approximately half are professional music educators, while the rest present a diverse set of occupations including business executives, attorneys, and physicians. More than half of the women participating in the band were Girl Scouts or troop leaders themselves, and are excited about performing for you!
