  1.  Council Sites
    • Definition:  A council site is defined as a site that multiple troops may attend.  These sites generally have high traffic and allow us to have sites on multiple days at multiple times. 
    • Examples (but not limited to):
      • Jewel Food Stores
      • Dominick’s Food Stores
      • Wal-Mart
      • Home Depot (if allowed)
      • Sam’s Club (if allowed)
      • Costco (if allowed)
      • Walgreens Pharmacy
      • CVS Pharmacy
      • Star Bucks
      • Video Stores
    • To sign up for a council site:
      • Troops may sign up for two (2) 3-hour time slots during the initial sign up phase (two weeks after the opening of the sign up period)
      • At the end of the  initial phase troops may sign up for as many sites as desired
      • Troops must contact the council office if they intend to cancel their site to open it back up to other troops
      • Your site selections are confirmed once you enter them into the system.  You will not receive a confirmation
      • Troops must use the E-Buddesystem to claim a council site.  If there is a conflict between troops at a site, the troop listed on the E-Budde system will take precedent.
  1. Establishing “MY Sales”
    • Definition:  A site that a troop has a personal connection to that is not conducive for multiple troop participation
    • Examples (but not limited to):
      • Parent Workplace
      • Special invitation to a troop by a merchant
      • Sites not designated as a Council site (check complete list prior to submitting request)
    • To request a personal site:
      • Get written or verbal approval from the merchant.  Be sure to get the merchant’s name, location address, city, zip code, telephone number and e-mail address if available.
      • Go to page 25 in the E-Budde Manual and follow the instructions of entering the information into the system.  ALL FIELDS must be entered.  Incomplete requests will not be approved
      • The request will be reviewed by council staff and approved or denied accordingly.  You must check the site for approval status. 
      • If approved, the site will appear on the E-Budde Cookie Locator which informs potential customers where cookies will be sold.
      • ALL SITES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL.  Troop activity not conforming to the established procedures will be denied future participation.

  1. Site Sale Rules and Etiquette:
    • Cookie booths are attended by 2 adults and no more than 2-3 girls at any one time. 
    • Cookie booths must be at least ten (10) feet from the merchant’s door – DO NOT BLOCK THE MERCHANT’S ENTRANCE
    • Be especially careful around doors that open electronically
    • Cookie booths and Girl Scouts must be a minimum of ten feet from any traffic area (parking lots and streets)
    • Troops must leave the cookie site clean of all debris by removing all trash and cookie box materials to the proper receptacle.
    • Troops must have an organized display at the site.  Request permission from the merchant before adhering posters or information to windows or walls.
    • Girls must stay at the cookie booth and not wander around or inside the premises
    • Girls must not approach customers inside the merchant’s facility
    • Girls must not approach any type of vehicle, parked or in motion.
  1. Supplies for your cookie booth
    • A card table if there is sufficient space (do not block doorways)
    • Decorative posters including your troop number and troop activity photos
    • Your Goal Chart
    • A table cloth
    • Paper, pens
    • Masking tape or painter’s tape to mount photos or posters – BE SURE TO GET PERMISSION TO MOUNT THESE FROM THE MERCHANT
    • Fanny pack or cash box
    • $30 in singles and fives to make change – DO NOT LEAVE LARGE AMOUNTS IN YOUR FANNY PACK OR CASH BOX
    • Current site schedule
    • Troop telephone roster and a working cell phone
    • Borrow a cookie costume from your Regional Service Center.
    • Additional cookie promotional items are available to purchase in the Girl Scout Shop.

  1. Getting more cookies
    • Get additional cases from one of the roving trucks in your area.  The truck schedule will be posted to the Web site prior to the start of site sales.  Roving trucks will be available during the first three weekends only.  Each Regional Service Center will also have a supply.  Regional Service Centers will be available during regular office hours only (no Saturdays or Sundays)
    • Cookies will be issued in FULL CASES ONLY.
    • Cases taken from the trucks or Regional Service Centers cannot be returned or exchanged.  Damaged or missing product will be replaced.
