Girl Scout Leader's Day

Girl Scouts

"Celebrating People in Action" is the theme of National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2010.

Girl Scout Leader’s Day is April 22, 2010.

In addition to our Adult Recognitions/Awards Program, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is committed to celebrating our people in action - our Girl Scout volunteers at all levels and in all positions.

We, as a council, will be doing some special things that you will see in the upcoming weeks. We offer to our key direct service volunteers, as well as parents, some tools and resources to show Girl Scout volunteer leaders and other Girl Scout volunteers in your area how much they are appreciated. Some are cute, some are funny, most are inexpensive. All will be appreciated by the Girl Scout volunteers that you support.

Below are some of our fun ideas and suggestions, but please, add your own as well.

Looking for other ideas? You can also purchase Girl Scout gift items from our online shop. These are also available at any of the shops in our regional service centers. All proceeds support our local council. The Gift of Girl Scouts allows you to honor someone special by making a donation to Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana in their name. You will receive an honor card to present to them. Find out more and choose the honor card you want at our Gift of Girl Scouts page.

Together, let’s celebrate Girl Scout volunteers in action!
